And on Friday evening, a gala night celebrating the Olympics and Arts was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The event marked the closing of the Olympic Cultural Festival and the "Meet In Beijing Arts Festival".

The gala paid tribute to the Olympic spirit and its prevalence in the world's most populous country. Olympic songs especially composed for the evening, and a children's chorus singing "One World, One Dream" - graced the air.
