The Italian fashion designer did not venture far from his traditional greys and dusky hues but he did sprinkle dresses with sparking blue butterflies or grasshoppers picked out in pink.
Handkerchief shapes were on show in dresses, skirts and tops.
Also on Sunday, the Italian label Blugirl took inspiration from a summer garden for silk dresses and soft blouses in bright floral shades at the fashion house's women's wear show.
Designer Anna Molinari used a subdued palette of creams and khaki for her runway. The theme was a garden party. She introduced emerald and magenta for shoes, hair bows and belts, and used bright vivid colors for short dresses that dazzled in silk and satin.
An oriental theme came through in long flowing kimono-style dresses in soft lavender, mauve and pink. Molinari -- a native of Capri in Italy -- caters to a younger clientele with her Blugirl line, a sibling of the original Blumarine brand which she and her husband created in 1977.
