Gu Xiaoyuan, deputy director of Beijing Tourism Bureau, said, "Tickets for the Olympic Central Area will be issued mainly to foreign tour groups and Beijing residents. But individual tourists can also pick up tickets in downtown hotels."
If visitors want to buy tickets to see venues such as the Bird's Nest, they can go to either one of the five ticket offices in Beijing. More than 7 million tourists are expected to visit Beijing during the upcoming National Day holiday, the first "golden week" holiday after the Olympics.
