Shijiazhuang, capital of north China's Hebei Province is hosting its third major cartoon festival. This year's event is not only attracting the usual throngs of anime fans, it also breaking down age barriers.

Twelve year old, Du Kang, has come to the cartoon exhibition with his friends. The sixth grader is fascinated the animation. The lure of miscellaneous animated games captured much of his attention.

6th grader Du Kang said, "There's an abundance of games. I think it's a bit weird. How come they are three dimensional?"

The imaginative cartoon figures and and settings captivate Du Kang. But many senior Shijiazhuang citizens find the fantasy world of animation equally absorbing. They come to relax with grandchildren and to recall their own memories of afternoons at the movies watching cartoons.

A Shijiazhuang citizen said, "It's fantastic! It has much more than what we were offered back then."
