There's a lot happening on the music scene over the holiday. Some of the biggest names in Chinese pop music performed at this week's three day music festival at Longshui Lake in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.
Among the many rock musicians performing, Cui Jian is no doubt stands as one of the heavy weights.
He didn't arrive until the middle of the first night to wild applause and cheers from the enthusiastic crowd.
Cui's lively performance energized the crowd, as members of the audience joined in and started singing along with Cui. The man known as the father of Chinese rock performed a series of his hits -- "Rock N' Roll on the New Long March", "Let Me Go Wild in the Snow", "Balls Under the Red Flag", and "Show You Color".
On the second day of the festival were solo performances by Xu Wei and Chang Chen-yue. The band "Convenience Store" was there -- so was "Ashura" , lauded as the Linkin Park of China.
A festival goer said, "I think the music makes young people feel good. And we really enjoyed the musical and the whole festival. "
The Longshui Lake music festival ended Wednesday.
