The Asian Art Festival is winding up in central China's Henan Province. This year's grand display features stage performances, film and art exhibits from all over Asia.
The ancient Song Dynasty capital of Kaifeng is the host city for the tenth Asian Art Festival which opened September 26th and winds up October 8th. Twenty Asian countries and regions have been staging thirty-six performances over the ten day event. Art troupes from Indonesia bring their diversified song and dance, representing various cultures from the country's many islands.
Community performances also are featured at the festival. They are staged in Kaifeng's parks. There are song and dance performance, and displays of traditional folk sports. The featured athletic events all won awards at the National Minority Sports Meeting.
There's a film expo and art exhibitions. The event, a meeting place for artists, has been held previously in Beijing, Hangzhou, Changchun, Foshan and Nantong.
The tenth Asian Art Festival is underway concurrently in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province.
