A crane container carrying 23 construction workers plunged to the ground Tuesday evening, killing 11 and injuring the other 12.

The accident occurred in heavy rain at a bridge construction site in Chongqing in southwestern China. The steel cable holding the container broke and the crate plunged on to the top of the bridge.
