Gallery visitor Li Xiang said, " Some art can be quite abstract. But in this Vegetable Museum, the artist used the vegetables which you can see and buy in everyday life. She used her artistic perception to reorganize them. It gives us a fresh perspective."
Priced between 1500 and 2000 US dollars each, Ju's art has achieved commercial success and convinced the Paris-Beijing Gallery to grant her a two-month -long show.
Romain Degoul, founder of Paris-Beijing Photo Gallery, said. "When I saw her works I found them very funny, very attractive, and very different to what I saw and what I used to see before from Chinese contemporary art and Chinese contemporary photography so I thought it was nice to make a try. I love the images. "
The global financial turmoil is causing buyers to rein in spending in the art market. But with two pieces immediately sold, Ju is confident in her second solo exhibition.
