Danny Boyle's fast-paced Mumbai love story, 'Slumdog Millionaire,' was the success story of the night. The film took three prizes. The feature is about a poor boy who makes his way through to the final round on India's version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire". The film won the awards for Best British Independent Film and Best Director. Star Dev Patel got the Most Promising Newcomer award.
