It now costs visitors 80 yuan to visit the shrines. The tourism industry reached new heights. Last year, the Xidi ancestral shrines welcomed more than half a million visitors.

The village is designated as a "four A" level tourist resort by the national tourism administration. Application has also been made to have Xidi cited for the UNESCO World Heritage List.
