A delegation of 1,000 Japanese youths arrived in Beijing on Thursday, the last group to take part in the "China-Japan Friendly Exchange Year of the Youth".
The delegation was led by former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda. Breaking into seven small groups, they will travel to 7 Chinese cities holding activities with their Chinese peers and exchanging views on various topics.
The China-Japan Friendly Exchange Year of the Youth was launched by Fukuda and Premier Wen Jiabao to allow young people from the two countries to get a better understanding of each other.
