With the credit crunch affecting many fashion houses, Miuccia Prada used her minimalist wand to combat the financial crisis with one of her most essential collections ever. The almost all black and gray show featured jackets and coats, slim slacks and plain sweaters. The only details in the collection were the myriad of studs, which dot white shirts, slacks and classic footwear, like mini nails securing the outfits to the body. The overall look of the collection was basic masculinity, pure and simple.
Designers Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi unveiled their new collection for fashion house Gianfranco Ferre on Sunday. The menswear collection, which is the first men's line for the pair since they took over at Ferre, showed a fresher, more youthful male image.
The colour palette was mostly black and white with sleek tailoring and slim lines. Some were set in contrast to that, though, with bulky knitted scarves and sweaters also on show.
