The Ministry of Health has announced that a bird flu vaccine for human use has completed clinical trials. The H-5-N-1 virus vaccine has been developed by Chinese researchers.
Mao Qun'an, Spokesman of Ministry of Health, said, "The bird flu vaccine for human use has completed clinical trails and has been allowed to enter the market. And some new anti-viral treatments have proved to be effective in curing three cases."
The Health Ministry has also released an analysis of recent cases of bird flu infection in China. Eight human cases of bird occurred in various locations throughout the country from January to March. Three of those infected have survived. All eight people had been exposed to poultry infected with the virus. The ministry says the virus still cannot be transmitted easily among humans.
