China has pledged to donate 15 million yuan, or 2.2 million US dollars, for the reconstruction of the war-battered Gaza Strip.
At Monday's international donors' conference in Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt, China's special envoy to the Middle East, Sun Bigan, said the money will be used to rebuild several destroyed primary schools.
Sun also urged all parties concerned to abide by UN Security Council Resolution 1860, and push forward humanitarian aid and reconstruction work in Gaza.
Officials and delegates from nearly 70 countries and 15 international organizations attended the conference. The international donors pledged a total of 4.48 billion dollars at the conference.
