Charlize Theron wants people to know she's just like everyone else. Even though the Oscar-winning actress makes regular appearances looking glamorous on red carpets for her new film, she says people shouldn't confuse the real her with her movie star image.
The 33-year-old actress's latest movie is "The Burning Plain", a drama about the troubled relationship between a woman and her mother.
It's directed by Guillermo Arriaga - the writer of heavy-weight pictures like "Babel" and "21 Grams".
Theron says she admires him for embracing death as a theme in his movies.
"The Burning Plain" stars Charlize Theron as a troubled Oregon restaurant manager who is forced to confront her past when a mysterious visitor arrives from Mexico.
Cinematographer Rober Elswit, who won an Oscar for "There Will Be Blood", has been lauded for stunning shots of the New Mexico desert.
