Madame Tussauds in New York unveiled a 7'6" tall wax figure of Olympian and Houston Rockets' seven-time All-Star Yao Ming for the first time in the U.S on Wednesday.Tourists to the museum will now be able to measure up to the NBA star.
Yao's figure - dressed in his Houston Rockets uniform and wearing sneakers donated by the NBA. The figure is on loan from Madame Tussauds Shanghai for six months. Yao Ming is one of the most popular and beloved players in both China and the U.S. Members of the New York Chinese Cultural Center's Acrobatic Troupe were on hand to perform at the unveiling. Yao will share billing with other New York sports stars such as Derek Jeter of the Yankees and Eli Manning of the New York Giants.
