Chief negotiators from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, Chen Yunlin and Chiang Pin-kung, have met in Nanjing for their third round of cross-Straits talks.
They agreed to inject new impetus into the development of both economies. The two heads of delegation are expected to sign three agreements Sunday afternoon, concerning increasing cross-Strait direct flights, financial cooperation and cracking down on crime.
During their meeting Sunday morning, the President of the mainland-based Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits, Chen Yunlin, said cross-Strait ties have entered a new stage of development. He called on people on both sides to join hands to tackle the global financial crisis.
The Chairman of the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation, Chiang Pin-kung, talked about the achievements both sides have made since their first meeting in June last year.
