Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said, "We should continue to push forward the Middle East peace process. The situation in the region must be stabilized at an early date. China supports the two-state solution, as it is the only way out for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Meanwhile, the international community should work to promote the MidEast peace process and to strengthen unity among the Palestinians. We believe the international community should not only promote Israeli-Palestinian dialogue but also help start Syria-Israel and Lebanon-Israel talks as soon as possible. This is the only way to achieve lasting, comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East at an early date."
