Jiang Qinqin was born in Chongqing Municipality in 1975. She started learning Peking Opera from age ten and managed to enter the Beijing Film Academy with a top score. Opportunities in show business came her way when Jiang was a junior in college. She starred in Taiwan writer Qiong Yao's novel Tears in the Heaven in 1997. The part was followed with a series of tragic roles including Mu Nianci in The Legend of Condor Heroes, Gu Manlu in Eighteen Springs and Niu Hongmei in A Loud Slap.
Courtyard of Family Qiao, the TV series in 2006, marked a turning point for both Jiang's career and life. She was a brave Lu Yuhan, ready to pursue love in the feudal Qing Dynasty. Her screen love affair with Chen Jianbin extended off-screen when the two wed right after shooting finished.
Presently, Jiang is devotes time to her son and waiting for valuable roles that wil break new ground.
