Taiwan administrators say they'll start to check investment projects from the mainland this week. They're aiming to implement the economic agreements signed by the Chinese mainland and Taiwan in April.
It's expected that mainland flight and shipping operators will be allowed to operate in Taiwan as early as June.
The newly agreed 101 investment projects by the island cover industries ranging from manufacturing and services to public construction.
The new deals allow mainland shipping and air companies to set up subsidiary firms in Taiwan and sell tickets directly to Taiwan residents. Taiwan authorities say they will announce the results of their work by early June at the latest.
