Boyle, an unemployed church volunteer who joked she had never been kissed, was the antithesis of what many people believed made a celebrity.
For many, Boyle was the favorite to win.
"She's done all right so far. I think she's doping with it, you know, considering she was this little lady from a little place, she seems to be able to cope with it quite well so yeah, good luck to her reality."
But others think she was overrated.
"I think she's only really popular because of her background and the fact that she was a bit weird to start with, so for me it's just not I'm more into the dance thing than the singing of it."
Dancing is what led "Diversity" to their surprise victory. The dance group earned a 100-thousand pound prize and the chance to perform before Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Variety Show.
