A town in Columbia gives fans of the squishy red fruit a chance to indulge themselves in an all-round way.
This is a war without winners, just a lot fun. And it's easy, simply grab some over ripe tomatoes and start throwing.
Each year the town erupts into a fiery blaze of tomato-hurling, and streets run with rivers of the red juicy thing.
Organizers say the tomatoes used are of poor quality and cannot be sold or eaten.
Gerardo Lozada, Festival Organizer, said, "They were donated by peasants and those who cultivate tomatoes. We do something good by taking the over ripe tomatoes away to avoid them contaminating other tomatoes."
