Chinese President Hu Jintao will attend the upcoming G8 meeting in Italy as the leader of one of five large developing countries invited to attend.
A Foreign Ministry spokesman says China hopes to push the establishment of new partner relationship between developed and developing countries. It's the sixth time for President Hu Jintao to attends a G8 meeting. On July 8th, President Hu Jintao will attend the meeting with leaders from five developing countries which includes India, Brazil, Mexico and South Africa.
On July 9th, Hu Jintao will attend a leaders' dialogue with G8 members, the five developing countries and Egypt. And on July 10th, the final day of the meeting, the Chinese President will attend a forum on food security.
Vice Foreign Minister He Yafei says China hopes the forum sends a strong signal of the need for global economic recovery as soon as possible.
He Yafei, Vice Foreign Minister said "Leaders will gather together to discuss topics focusing on economic recovery, climate change, energy security, food security and international trade."
