A Hollywood prop house is closing its doors after 40 years. It blames a difficult economy that threatens the culture of Hollywood itself.
"20th Century Props" is going out of business.
The owner says he's fallen victim to the economic hard times that become a reality for the entertainment industry.
House owner Harvey Schwartz said, "Over the past 12 months, it got really difficult to do business in Hollywood or Los Angeles. There is no movies and TV is hiatus at the moment and there are no commercials. The economy has taken a nosedive. Hollywood usually is doing better when the economy is struggling, but right now it it really doing badly."
After 40 years, 20th Century Props is closing its doors for good at the end of the month.
