China has called on all parties involved in the Mideast peace process to commit to political talks in order to realize a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the region.
Speaking at an open debate at the UN Security Council on the Middle East, China's deputy permanent representative to the UN Liu Zhenmin said under the current situation, political negotiations remain the only path to lasting peace. He said China supports the two-state solution based on the Security Council resolutions of the Arab Peace Initiative and the Principle of Land for Peace.
