Tropical Storm Goni has made landfall in southern China, bringing fierce winds and violent waves.

Goni landed at a speed of 83 kilometers an hour in Guangdong Province. Local weather forecasts says the storm is expected to move west. Meanwhile, another tropical storm, Morakot, is headed northwest at 20 kilometers an hour. It was formed on the Pacific Ocean Tuesday. Hainan Province has issued an emergency warning to 20,000 fishing boats out on the South China Sea, to return to harbor. Meteorological experts say the two tropical storms will not influence each other before Friday.
