A batch of home-made films are about to hit Chinese cinemas in the next two months. The movies celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China. We take a sneak peek at some of the trailers.
Domestic movies will fill theaters in the coming two months. "Tian'anmen Square", directed by Ye Daying who made the much acclaimed "Red Cherry", is slated for release on September the 3rd. "Tian'anmen Square" tells the story of a team of soldiers who are in charge of renovating Tian'anmen Square.
They are required to finish the mission before the grand ceremony of the founding of New China, and the mission triggers a series of hilarious yet touching stories happened during the renovation.
"The Founding of New China" is scheduled to be released on September the 9th. The film, with over two hundred actors of various generations taking part, tells the story of the establishment of the multi-party cooperation and political consultation system during the period from August l945 when China won victory in its war against Japanese agression to October first l949 when New China was founded.
And it will be followed by "The Message", slated for release on October the 1st. Leading the cast are Huang Xiaoming, Li Bingbing, Zhou Xun and Zhang Hanyu.
The film, infused with an atmosphere of suspense, follows the struggles of secret service agents of China and Japan during China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
