In the city of Shenyang in Northeast China's Liaoning province, the Third Northeast China Cultural Industry Expo attracted local residents on an unprecedented level while the show ran from last Friday through this Tuesday.
The expo's main venue was the Liaoning Industry Exhibition Hall, which was packed with masterpieces of national intangible heritage from across the country. There were porcelains, jade sculptures, wood carvings, paper cuts, embroidery, paintings, and calligraphy.
One popular feature of the expo was a screening of the latest productions from local cartoon and animation designers. They transformed a huge hall into a fairyland where spectators got a hands-on experience with the latest in animation technology, such as a four-dimensional movie.
An exhibition of Qingtian Stone Carvings got some well-deserved attention at the expo. All the works on display were made from the exquisitely-textured stones from the Qingtian Mountain. Nearly two-hundred sculptures were on view, which made this the first time that so many Qingtian stone carvings had been brought together for public display.
