Asem Culture and Arts Festival was brought to a pinnacle at a grand exhibition that opened over the weekend at the World Art Museum of Millennium Monument.
Entitled "One World, One Home", the display brings together more than two-hundred pieces from over 30 foreign embassies in China. Exhibits consist of paintings, sculptures, photos, and handicrafts, with each vividly reflecting the individual culture of its country of origin.
From a wooden sculpture from Sweden, and traditional Japanese dolls, to an amber necklace and hand-made tapestry celebrating the one-thousandth year that Lithuania was first mentioned in historical sources all exhibits combine to embrace cultural diversity, echoing the theme of the Asem Cultural Festival "Sharing Diversity and Innovation."
At the launch ceremony, dozens of foreign ambassadors to China joined Chinese representatives to cut the red ribbon.
Exhibition organizers aim to show how art bears universal values that transcend boundaries. It surpasses differences of color, language, and race.
Through the art, visitors may see how all people belong to the same world, sharing the same aspirations and dreams.
The exhibition runs through Thursday.
