At the ongoing 16th Beijing International Book Fair, children's books are scoring big. And based on the books parents are buying, they're hoping to build knowledge and inspire imagination.
This volume is titled "The First Discovery". It represents China's first application of film technology in a printed publication. Through its double-layer printing, young readers can gain a more concrete, vivid understanding of the interior working of the natural world. Also, it will be easier for them to grasp those minute details that would usually escape children's attention.
This series is titled "Great Visual Discovery". Photographers in the United States spent more than twenty years putting together these volumes, each of which contains more than ten-thousand images of objects from the everyday life. Through its remarkable visualization of the narratives, these books can help young readers develop their capacity for imagination.
The Book Fair has a wide array of other books especially designed for children. Through a combination of vivid imagery and accessible narrative, they intend to open up a whole new world of knowledge to children.
Statistics show that the transaction volume of children books account for nearly one-third of the total sold here.
The Beijing International Book Fair opened last week, and runs at the Beijing International Exhibition Center until Monday.
