Actually, China has planned to build an international hub terminal for quite some time. Beijing Capital International Airport is the first in Asia to have three runways. BCIA also boasts the world's largest T3 building.
The airport has reduced the added fee in peak hours for airline companies since the latter half of 2008. BCIA then began to launch commercial promotions this year. Non-flight income increased by 20 percent compared to the first half of last year.
Beijing Capital International Airport also upgraded the parking apron's assistant power system, which reduces fuel consumption by planes. If the new power system is extended to all runways, the BCIA might help airline companies save close to 30,000 tons of fuel. This would reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 80,000 tons.
