The British Tourist Authority says the number of Chinese tourists visiting the UK is growing. They now account for ten per cent of the country's Asian travelers.
The authority says Chinese tourists have replaced visitors from Russia and the Middle East as the most popular clients of Britain's tourist industry. China is now seen as the fastest growing market.
Li Yanjun, Vice Manager of China Market, British Tourist Authority said "The number of Chinese tourists is growing by double digit percentages every year. We get the figures from China's National Tourism Administration, and also tourist visa information we gather at our embassy in China. In 2008, more than 200,000 Chinese traveled to the UK."
