China is holding its seventh Flower Expo in the Shunyi district of Beijing. 1300 exhibitors from China and around the world have brought their local plants, seeds and latest gardening techniques to the show. The first three days have seen 270-thousand visitors.
Flower power has been bringing in large crowds in the first three days.
The foreign zone is a highlight of this session, with exhibitors from 27 countries and regions.
Japan has sent ten plant firms to participate the event.
Orchid is the theme for Thailand's booth.
The Australian zone is receiving the most praise for its flowers' stunning beauty. Twelve kinds of seasonal flowers represent the island country in the southern hemisphere.
The exhibitor representative says they're surprised by the Chinese enthusiasm. They plan to bring other seeds to China in the future.
Exhibitors from Holland have brought multi-colored
chrysanthemum and roses. Special technology allows the flowers to be dyed after being cut, without affecting their ability to grow.
Visitors to the domestic zone prefer the wild plants and flowers. Pots from the northern grasslands and the Tibet plateau are a hit.
A visitor said, "Flowers here are more interesting than the delicate home grown ones. I saw these kinds of flowers in my childhood."
A spectator said, "I like the flowers and grass from the Inner Mongolia."
One and a half million people are expected to visit the 10-day Flower Expo.
