Golden Horse nominations announced

The nominating committee announced this year's choices on Wednesday. And films from the mainland made a good showing winning more nods than either Taiwan or Hong Kong films.

The film "Like a Dream", which is a joint effort between the Mainland, Taiwan, and Australia, tops the list with nine Golden Horse nominations.

And mainland Film "Cow" has garnered seven nominations including Best Film and Best Director.

The mainland spy thriller "Message" slips in with four nods, including recognition for its two female leads Zhou Xun and Li Bingbing who both got nods for Best Actress.

Another mainland film, "Crazy Racer", also received four nods. Zhang Ziyi was nominated for "Best Supporting Actress" for her role in "Forever Enthralled", while Yu Shaoqun, the actor who played Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang, won a nod for Best Newcomer.

In all, mainland films won forty-one nominations out of the total of eighty given. Taiwan films won thirty-two, while Hong Kong films won the remaining seven.
