As the security situation in Pakistan continues to worsen, the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad has activated emergency plans to protect local Chinese residents, students, and company employees. The embassy is also reinforcing self-protection procedures.

Tensions in Pakistan have escalated recently, posing a huge threat to the 11-thousand Chinese nationals living and working there. Ensuring the safety of every Chinese citizen, including those employed by the country's diplomatic corps, has become the Embassy's top working priority.

Luo Zhaohui, Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, said, "We signed an agreement with Pakistan's Ministry of the Interior two years ago to form a joint working group to protect the safety of Chinese people here. Now we have established a 24-hour hotline with the ministry, and all Pakistani provinces, as a safety mechanism."
