No rest for Chinese hurdling star Liu Xiang: he is back to regular training in his hometown of Shanghai after winning gold at the National Games last month.
Liu returned to his practice routine on Tuesday afternoon. The Athens Olympic champion is getting ready to compete in the Asian Athletic Championships next week. It will be his third race since coming back to the track after achilles tendon surgery.
Coach Sun Haiping says Liu is pretty relaxed as he heads into his upcoming race.
Liu is also doing a little signing for charity in Shanghai. He's working raise awareness of the plight of orphans with AIDS. Liu Xiang, Jackie Chan, China's top golfer Liang Wenchong and other stars will put up some of their own possessions for auction. The auction will be held online for about three months. The money collected will be donated to orphans with AIDS in Yunnan, Hubei and Anhui provinces in China.
