Shanghai has been collecting the smiles of its youngsters to welcome visitors during the World Expo to be held next May. A celebration of these smiles was held in Shanghai on Sunday.
A "Wall of Smiles" now stands in downtown Shanghai and it's covered with pictures of young people's smiles.
The volunteers on the project took pictures in communities, schools, companies and tourist sites. They asked young people to burst into a smile for the photographs to welcome visitors from home and abroad to the Shanghai World Expo.
Now 300-thousand smiles were captured for the project. The aim is to collect 1-million. These smiles are to become Shanghai's name card as it welcomes visitors to the 2010 World Expo.
