Now for a trip back in time to a different era -- both for Hollywood film making and life in America's old south. Rhett Butler may not have "given a damn," but legions of fans of the Hollywood classic Gone with the Wind clearly do. The film's devoted followers, known as "Windies," joined members of the original cast in Marietta, Georgia, to celebrate its 70th anniversary.
Gone With The Wind is an icon of the American cinema. It's based on Margaret Mitchell's 1936 novel of the same name, and is set in the US south during the turbulent days of the civil war.
Fans danced away in period costume, while some of the original cast members unveiled a huge cake in the shape of the famous Tara plantation, the home of the film's heroine, Scarlett O'Hara played by Viven Leigh.
Among those who attended the celebrations was Anne Rutherford, who played Scarlett's sister, Careen O'Hara.
