Of those murdered in the Philipines, about a dozen were journalists. Fellow journalists gathered in Manila to stage their anger.
Journalists expressed rage over the cold-blooded killings and demanded the government conduct a speedy investigation.
They wore arm bands with the words "Stop killing journalists," to express solidarity with the victims' families.
Malou Mangahas, Executive Director, said, "We cannot ignore the killings of journalists anymore. There is not enough rage among our ranks, but I am sure all of us yesterday were really appalled, moved to tears, especially those who know, or who knew those who had fallen."
