Dense fog in east and south China forced the closure of several highways. Some sections of the highways in Jiangxi, Jiangsu provinces and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were closed due to low visibility.

Meteorological department says parts of the highways could be reopened on Friday afternoon. Poor visibility is also affecting highways in Nanchang,capital of Jiangxi Province.

Fog also caused some navigations along the Ganjiang River to close. In Guangxi, experts say radiation fog, which usually occurs at night and dissipates when the sunrises has lasted for two days. Forecasters believe a cold front will bring a large scale fog in China.
