At least 127 people have been killed, and over 400 wounded, in Baghdad. They were the victims of coordinated attacks targeting government buildings in the Iraqi capital. The incidents cast a shadow over an important oil field bid due in several days and the country's parliamentary elections set for early next year.

Coordinated bombings have once again ripped through Baghdad.

The heavy death toll makes it one of the deadliest assaults the city has seen this year. And the timing couldn't be worse ...

A crucial oil field auction is set to be held this weekend. Lucrative deals could be signed there to help Iraq's reconstruction.

The country's parliamentary elections are scheduled for early next year as well.

Some people on the streets of Baghdad are indignant about the shortcomings of their security forces.
