The Philippines' most active volcano, Mayon, is showing signs of a possible eruption. Nearly 50-thousand residents living in an eight-kilometer radius around the mountain are being evacuated.
Classes near the danger zone are also being suspended. The volcano is located in the Philippine province of Albay. The past two weeks, magma has been rising and oozing out of its crater. Dark orange lava is also trickling down the mountain slope.
Volcanologists raised the alert level, in case of an eruption in the coming days. Mayon's most violent eruption took place in 1814. More than 1200 people were killed and a town was completely buried.
