The Bifengxia Base for Giant Panda Protection has prepared enough for them to survive their Shanghai adventure for 6-months. Each cub has a cage, labelled with it's name, ready to leave the base on Tuesday morning. Their keepers say they are in good physical and mental condition.
Xu Yaling, Kepper of Panda Research Center, said, "The ten pandas were kept by two groups in different enclosures. We have put them together for a while before they leave to let them more adjusted to the future conditions."
Shanghai's two zoos are also busy preparing a warm welcome for the pandas. A 600 square-meter enclosure has been built at the Shanghai Zoo, complete with a play area.
The pandas will be on display at the Shanghai Zoo for the first 6-months and then be transferred to the Shanghai Wild Animal Park. They're expected to meet visitors in Shanghai at the end of January.
