Liang Wenhao breaks Canadians' siege to win gold

In the men's 500m event, 6 made it to the final, including China's gold hopeful Liang Wenhao. Liang stepped up to occupy second place after the start, following Vancouver Olympic champion Francois Hamelin.

The formation went on as no one broke out till the final lap.

Liang made a spectacular breakaway from outside to outstrip the Canadian and win the race in a photo finish with a time of 41.383 seconds to end China's 7-year title drought in men's events at the championships.
