In Chongqing, the worst storms in 50 years have left a trail of damage. As the rain and gales let up, local people are busy with disaster relief work.

Dianjiang County is one of the most seriously hit area by the storms.

Over 10,000 houses have collapsed or been damaged.

There were 100 heads of cattle on this farm. When the storm hit on Wednesday, the roof of the farm collapsed, many animals were struck by falling debris.

This animal lucked out with just minor injuries. Those seriously hit are in hospital now.

The farm owner says they are moving the uninjured cows to a safe place, adding that he's suffered losses of tens of thousands of Yuan.

In the Shanqinghe area, storm-triggered floods and landslides trapped over 300 people on Wednesday. The victims were both local residents and road construction workers.
