BP says, the amount of oil, captured by the containment cap on the ruptured well is increasing everyday.

The company's engineers, are now working on a way to transfer the oil from the well quicker to a surface tanker as well as improve relevant processes.

BP captured just over 15,000 barrels of oil with its containment cap system on Tuesday.

The U.S. Coast Guard says BP is now working on ways to increase productivity of a drill ship and a service rig on the surface to 28,000 barrels a day.

Admiral Thai Allen, US Coast Guard, said, "We are in the process of moving a mobile drilling unit into place. It will probably be there on the 14th of June. That will add a 10,000 barrel capacity to what is coming out of the wellhead right now."

The "Discover Enterprise" rig known as the Q4000 will be hooked up to seabed equipment to extract oil and gas from a failed blowout preventer. It will also enhance the containment cap system.

The rig should be in place next week to process some collected oil and burn some off.

Admiral Thai Allen, US Coast Guard, said, "There will have to be a transition between the containment cap and the regular cap like we wanted to do to begin with and when the new production system comes on board to replace the Discover Enterprise, the Q4000."

BP says it's captured about 57,500 barrels of oil with Tuesday's tally.

US government scientists estimate between 12,000 and 19,000 barrels of oil is spewing into the Gulf of Mexico every day.

More than one-third of BP's market value has been wiped since the crisis began. That's about 67 billion US dollars.

On Wednesday, BP shares fell around 4 percent in London, following a 5 percent drop on Tuesday. It comes as worries increase that the company will have to suspend its dividend payment under pressure from the U.S..
