Football fans in Hong Kong can enjoy the World Cup in 3D at local cinemas. The tickets are 300 Hong Kong dollars. Hong Kong is the second place after Australia showing 3D live World Cup matches. It is so far proving to be a successful business idea and fans are enjoying it.

Most of the audience are faithful football fans. They are hoping the 3D version of the World Cup will be like the real thing in South Africa. The special 3D experience is also attracting non football fans just for the fun.

An audience member said, "The 3D effect is great. There are a lot of sounds coming from behind. I feel that I'm on the football field myself."

Food and drinks are allowed in the cinema. The audience can enjoy the match while sipping beer. The atmosphere in the cinema is just like in the stands at the pitch in South Africa.

However, some audience members say while they like the 3D show, they are not so satisfied with the price.

An audience member said, "300 is too expensive."

The Hong Kong cinemas say the investment for the 3D event is hundreds of times more expensive than for a regular movie. So the price is higher.

There will be 16 cinemas in Hong Kong that offer 3D live matches, and the ticket price is expected to fall from 300 to 240 Hong Kong dollars.

Some cinemas in Shenzhen like the Jiahe theatre decided not to provide 3D coverage because the investment is too great. Also, they are not optimistic about the market.

Huang Fei of Shenzhen Xinnanguo Cinema said, "The equipment will cost about two hundred thousand yuan. So, the ticket charge will be more than 200 yuan. It's hard for most people to accept."

Some Shenzhen residents say they are willing to enjoy the 3D World Cup experience, if the price is right.
