The Huatong Museum is the biggest private museum in Sichuan province, and one of the biggest in China. The museum has recently opened in Chengdu, the provincial capital.

The museum has collected thousands of pieces of pottery unearthed in Sichuan dating back to the eastern Han dynasty some 2,000 years ago. The private Huatong Museum opened on Monday, and was set up by entrepreneurs of Sichuan province.

With 30-thousand square meters of exhibition space, the museum houses 10,000 relics and art pieces including ancient paintings, bronze ware, stone carvings, and 3,000 pottery pieces unearthed in Sichuan province.

The museum is applying the most advanced technology to preserve the relics and will serve as a research base for relic protection in southwest China.
