In World Cup news, Germany powered into the quarterfinals by crushing England 4-1 on Sunday.

Thomas Mueller finished two quick counter attacks within four minutes inthe second half to sink England's hopes of beating Germany at the World Cup for the first time since the 1966 final. The English suffered their worst ever defeat at a world cup tournament.
