Relics reveal ancient Shu Kingdom

Some ancient relics from San Xing Dui or Jin Sha Museum in southwest China's Sichuan province are wowing audience at northeast China's Liaoning province. In just two weeks, the number of visitors reached 30,000.
The exhibition about the ancient Shu Kingdom sheds lights on the mysterious civilization in southwest Sichuan dating back three thousand years.
The bronze masks, a symbol of ancient Shu Kingdom, and also the prominent relics at the exhibition, are actually masks of sorcerers which carried much weight with the people during that time.
Zhang Li, researcher of Liaoning Museum, said, The sorcerers wore these masks, to let people believe they have the power to communicate with the heaven and earth.
Experts say sorcerers held supreme power in the ancient Shu kingdom, even more than the king. That may explain the worship of these masks by Shu people of that era. These masks also indicate ancient Shu kingdom had advanced bronze molding technology.
